There are not many viewing points along the hiking trail. I see trees, and again trees, in most of the places. Anyhow, these rare viewing points do provide me with different appealing vistas. Somehow, some of the scenic view never come easy.
I missed the downpour today, it did not come, but the crowd came back. All the familiar faces came back this morning. Anyway the higher I hiked, the lesser people I had in company. And the higher I hiked, the further and the more I could see.
Yet it is not easy to see Mengkuang Dam from Cerok Tokun. The view is blocked by layers of fern and trees. There is another trouble to have a nice picture due to the eastward direction, you know, in the morning.
I had to climb up the guard rail for an clear view.
Both Mengkuang Dam and Cerok Tokun are the favorite places people go for exercise in the neighbourhood. The aerial view simply shows I have trekked only a small portion of Mengkuang Dam, the far left corner of the first picture.

There is a Durian plantation nearby Mengkuang Dam which I have written before.
I managed to get some more pictures from another viewing point. This one was captured in a zoom out view on the other side of the trek further away from the hill side.

wow, that is such a very rewarding view after a climb. I agree with you, in most hikes I've been to, the higher you go, the less people you see :)
OMG! What beautiful view! The first picture, gives me a feeling that you're on top of the cloud!
Yes, Asia has a lot of flowers to boasts sometimes only found in Asia. Great shots here rain. I love that last photo, nice framing.
Such a beautiful place!!!
These pictures are great even if it's difficult to see the dam. My hiking trails are mostly flat land and short distances, so there are almost always people. I have a few places that go long distances so there are not many people. I like when I see trees all around me. I feel good when there are so many trees that it becomes dark.
Climbing that guard rail has given the vantage point for the excellent first shot. It was well worth the effort.
Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on my blog...Thomas
betchai:: it means the higher we go, the more we enjoy, both on the scenery and quietness.
Icy BC:: OMG!!! On top of cloud?? I suffer from Acrophobia.
Pacey:: I like both pictures, because they are my baby. LOL!!
The Retired One:: That's why I am sharing with all of you.
Are these trails safe for hiking? Anyone got lost?
We have a place somewhere in Semenyih called Broga Hill. Hiking place but not advisable to trek alone. Friends have visited there but I have yet to check out the place.
Ratty:: You get the point, it is very difficult to get a good picture in the jungle. It is always dark, with less sunlight.
T and S:: It is the fun on sharing pictures and opinion that get me go blogging.....
Mei Teng:: I have not heard any news on this recently. It happened long time ago. It is safe as long as we follow the trek.
