A Bird in the Lush Green

Do you like stories? I like stories very much. I like listening to songs too, and those are gifts by the Nature that I cannot refuse.

Like other Fantail species, Pied Fantail used to sing in the wild, but it lurched quietly this time and disappeared promptly into the lush green, and was then encountered foraging on the ground, took a shower on a puddle before flying off again.
I managed to fire a few shots but only one picture speaks its identity. It shows the white throat and white belly clearly. I just missed the shot when it was having the characteristic tail fanning out actions.

You may be wrong to think that it was posing for me, this Fantail actually perched on the branch for just a second, and I was never as quick on my finger; I had borrowed the earlier second for my click and captured this agile creature in the next second. Kind of complicated?

Yes, it was. When I thought it would never come into sight again, its hide and seek game had sent the Fantail to a nearby river bank. It would rather sing together with another Fantail than sang for a man. And it was then a trainer that trained unintentionally the Fantail inside the cage for a singing contest.

Ugh, I never seem to win any admiration of a bird. I was just an outsider this day.

You managed to capture pretty decent pictures for an 'outsider' :)

Maybe it was flirting with you so you will try to look for it again another day.

I love stories..so does my love bird- he's perched on my shoulder while I read this to him. These are terrific images- I love the last one too- looks so lush and captivating in there! Must of known you were trying to be sneaky..so it needed to retreat..song is truly a gift! Well, my story isn't as sensible as yours, but this gives me hope, lol:)

Pied Fantail is handsome. Your story reminds me we once had a Cockatiel bird that could sing "Pop Goes the Weasel." Except he memorized the song a little bit wrong, and always sang it the same strange way.

he is perched prettily up there in the lush branches of the tree, good that for a flash of a second, you were quick enough to capture his pose.

Shoot a multiframe mode and see if you get what you want. They always move when you don't want them to.

I shall not be an outsider if I can fly. Yes, if I can fly.

Bangchik:
An outsider will judge better, but enjoy less fun..

AVCr8teur:
Ugh, that bird...

Kilauea Poetry:
Your comment is another story to me. I hope I can have a bird perching on my shoulder, like you do, and like Capt. Long John Silver did.

Diane:
Round and round the cobbler's bench
The monkey chased the weasel,
The monkey thought 'twas all in fun
Pop! Goes the weasel.

betchai:
Ugh, I am not quicker than the bird.

Out on the prairie:
Yes, that's a good tip. They always move when we don't want them to do, they stay for a few secomds when we are not ready.

Tabib:
Chick chick....

Happy green weekend.

Life Ramblings:
It was too cool..

Frieda:
Thank you very much.

That is a great capture rainfield. They are all so quick it is nearly impossible to get good photos. Congrats!

Even being an outsider to this bird, you still got good pictures. I think birds think of us all as outsiders. Maybe the real trick for us is to stay outside and away enough to make them feel safe. Then we can get our pictures, like you did.

if u record its calls n then playback, woud it attract or confuse the birds?

he must be thrilled with your hide and seek game, perhaps next time will be more challenging encounter

happy weekend!

My neighbour has a Fantail as his pet. I enjoy its song very much.

Is that a bird on the cage on the second photo?

Harshi said...

Yep, I agree, nothing beats a bird song. Oh and this birdie looks beautiful. Would love to see it doing a fantail dance on a pond. =D

PS: did you put up that cage by any chance? =D

Ginnymo/Poetic Shutterbug:
The beauty of a bird is static as compared to that of a flower.
But the level of difficulty is totally different.

Ratty:
I would rather be an "insider", I would like to communicate with them.

Bengbeng:
In fact, some peaple play back the calls in order to train their birds in cage rather then to confuse those in the wild.

Ayie/CH:
My expereince with these birds was always challenging. The are dynamic.

VanillaSeven/Harumi:
Yes, there is a bird inside the cage. Someone put up the cage in order the fantail in the wild can help polishing the singing skill of the bird inside the cage.
