The Grass Yellow

I always complain because butterflies are too fast to be photographed, but I can rejoice because their speed brings excitement to me.

This happened in the morning when I started to play with this Chocolate Grass Yellow. It played to fly faster than the speed of lightning, I played to capture its soul at the speed of an old man. I laughed at myself in the midst of the game for being not able to flatten its soul as a piece of decent picture, but a loser may not be a total loser at the end.

I somehow won sympathy of the Grass Yellow. It perched on the pathway, waited for my camera,

then moved not too far away, alternated between its few favourite poses until I had had enough.

I am a hundred times taller than this butterfly, but we had no difference when talking about playfulness.

It posed at the side wall of the pathway, and acted like a cliff hanger. I crouched like a big cat looking for a suitable Vantage point...

When I tried to have a peep at the inner secret, it told me this was an exit door. I just could not always be successful as a peeping tom.

But I learn everyday; I learned "not to refuse any advance of friendship, for if nine out of ten bring you nothing, one alone may repay you" by today.

"a hundred times taller ~ no difference when talking about playfulness..to the exit door"- fabulous! I feel the same way about catching those dragonflies..I've had more luck (a little) with butterflies for some reason? Maybe a good rain and some big puddles?
Have a great day-

You really got some great pictures of this butterfly. I have little white ones here that look very similar to this one. They're always flying, and they never stop.

Beautiful catch!
Look at the chocolate colour at the tip of the wings.
This should be "Chocolate Grass Yellow" (Eurema sari sodalis).
Not Common Grass Yellow. ;)

He is so active to be shy.

A winner is still a winner, a loser is somehow a winner later.
It is a win-win situation.

George:
Nature is a good teacher. I am always a good student.

Kilauea P:
I follow butter that flies, and you choose to catch that dragons that fly around.

Ratty:
You have seen pieces of white butter that fly! I thought we have only yellow butter-flies.

Cheryl:
I enjoy very much as long as I get some decent pictures.

Life Ramblings:
They can be found at any places, but they are not camera-friendly most of the time, during which I see them like a piece of yellow butter in pictures.

Mei Teng:
Butterflies are beautiful, caterpillars are ugly.

wenn:
This is a odd little one. Its mood is right at that moment.

Mike:
I can see butterflies at any moment, and I can see caterpillars after my plants getting bored; by this time, they are very big and fat to be seen.

The Retired One:
This is a story from a yellow butterfly. I am just a reporter.
I'll send him your message.

Tabib:
Thank you very much. It is very easy to find and plentiful now in the web after knowing the name.

betchai:

This butterfly has a nice cream yellow colour with a dark brown patch and dots. Reminds me of jagung ice-cream with chocolate topping! Beautiful and delicious.

Those are beautiful pictures. Butterflies are wonderful animals, usually way too fast to have their picture taken (I've been trying it a couple of times, too)...
