Zebra Dove

Zebra doves are frequently heard with a series of soft and staccato “croo-coo” calls at the roof top in my neighbourhood. They also like out strolling on bare ground or along a quiet road, and never hurry to fly off while we are driving towards them. They always manage to keep cool and be relaxed in most of the time.

I saw a couple of them perching on a cable line at Bukit Mertajam railway station.

People come people go; people feel excited going for holiday or coming home for their long missed family; people sorrow over the end of their holiday or sad to leave their loved one.

They witness all these day in and day out, and continue to keep croo-cooing softly on top of the cable.

They are always so calm and peaceful.

"Croo-coo, croo-coo."

love your thoughts about zebra doves and the picture of the railway station. indeed, people come and go, sometimes I can't help but feel sorry I met some people that I should have not met, but then, at the end of the day I realized they are still blessings in helping me strengthen my character.

I see birds sat on wire like in your pictures, and I also saw them looking down at people passing in and out..I think you translate these feelings very well.

special with those wires

For some reason, those type of doves are tamer than their other counterpart. Some time back, a pair nested in our neighbor's gutter and we even saw the eggs... BTW, the railway photo is nice, Rainy. :)

Its just as you've described.. doves and their cooing, are so endearing- bringing back or a connection to so many memories-they've been around. Thanks- great captures:)

They look like our Mourning Doves here. They also sit on wires and "Coo, Coo. When they make that sound their necks puff up.

Doves are some of my favorite birds. Their coo-coo sound is just like you say. It's such a soothing sound.

The birds seem to have no problem at all. Lucky creatures.

It is salt and you, sugar and me. I like the thought.

Loshini:
We start to think and imagine once we open up our mind.
I love to do it again and again.

betchai:
People come and go, we are fated to meet each other but not strong enough to know each other.

IC:
When I start to talk to birds, I can translate thing better.

Filip Demuinck:
Everything looks special tome.

Tes:
Welcome back. I have another photos on railway. You may like then, I think.

Kilauea Poetry/Ratty:
Their cooing is soothing, especially in a quiet afternoon.

Ginnymo:
They have a close relative with the name Peaceful Dove. They look alike. And I like the name.

Harumi:
Sorry for that. The zebra lines faded after a raining night.

Any one shoot these wild pigeons? Your train starts in Singapore?

This is one of my frustrations... I always wanted to take photos of those birds on the cable wire. I always see them when I pass by but I just can't stop in the middle of the road. Love how you put story to your photos.
