About my jogging trail

I did not talk much about my jogging trail though I have posted a few stories before.

I did not talked much, not because either me or she is shy. The sky is always dim when I am there. The monkeys, birds, crabs, lizards and some others have either returned home or well hidden by the dim light. I have nothing much to talk about.

The above picture on a river beside my jogging trail has appeared once in my blog, that is why it is downgraded into a dwarf. My story today began along the shore line, a swamp area, because I reached here very early today. And this very early had ended up seeing me taking pictures instead of dripping with sweat.

I wanted to show you some beautiful little crabs, this was my intention. When I got nearer, they disappeared into their hiding holes as fast as the squirrels. Then, there are no crabs today, except for that blue dragonfly. It never flied away even my camera was only two inches away. Poor little thing, my early series of flashlights should have made it losing its brain.

(This may be the trick: bombard the crabs with flashlight!! This must help).

Then came the lone mudskipper that seemed to lose its way. It was heading towards a hiding hole of a crab, at where my camera was pointed, waiting for the emergence of that little critter. Mudskippers are completely amphibious fish. They are able to spend days moving about out of water.

Since then, I was found still squatting like a statue besides the swamp, waiting for the little beautiful crabs before the sun set, before the guerrilla attacks by mosquitoes.

I could not deviate from my initial plan. That dragonfly or mudskipper had not successfully distracted me. There is an aim, there will be some pain, then come the gain.

I shall come back.

wow, the amphibious fish looks just like a tadpole! were there plenty of them? i'll wait for the picture of the little crabbies - i remember we found some at the beach - small soft ones, you know, but they really didn't look like the regular crabs to me, so i'm very excited to see what they look like over there at your very interesting wonder of a jogging trail!

Great post. I love the scenery with the sunset. Cool!

mudskipper..I have not seen them with my naked eyes but seen them in one of the TV programme. A unique fish isn't it? You have done well to capture it on film.

A very good close up of the dragon fly too.

Though you didn't get any pictures of the crabs, the blue dragonfly is just fantastic. I would love to see one!

Have a good weekend..

Your dragonfly looks pretty. There is an identical looking dragonfly in our country (genus: Diplacodes).

BTW, there is a Malayan 'dragon-chaser' in my blogroll:
http://dragonsndamsels.blogspot.com/

He would be able to identify your dragonfly if you are keen to narrow it down to species level.

Your river is beautiful in the sunset, and you got great pictures of the dragonfly and mudskipper as well. I can understand why you like this jogging trail.

You have some great pictures and a great story. I've never seen amphibious fish before now, but I've heard of them before. I'm glad for this view of something new. And the picture of the dragonfly is a great one too.

cherie: There are plenty of them over here, the one in picture is half the size of a fully grown adult. I missed to picture them last time because I reached there usually at around 7pm, they have left me for home.

Kirigalpothta: I thought mudskipper are also found in SJ, I am wrong.

Icy BC: I am going to post the pictures of crabs, they are coming soon. Happy Sunday.

Bengbeng: The dragonfly must have been paralysed by the flash light. I think this is the only reason I have the good picture.

Gallicissa: Thanks for the info. This the best part of Internet, to know people, to make friend and to gain knowledge.

Tabib: Thanks.

betchai: You are also smiling to me, I mean, from your picture. Life is full of fun. Though I did not take good pictures, but the hiking today was still a good one.

sharkbytes: thanks.

George: Yours flowers are as beautiful as the river.

Ratty: Amphibius fish is rare, is it? I am lucky to have one type here.

Cher: I see your beautiful pink dragonfly every each time I log in to your blog.

I have loved dragonflies even as a child and haven't been so successful in photographing them lately. You did good here rain and btw, thanks for identifying for me the white flower on my post today.

Cool hiking trail you've got there. And nice scenery too but wish the photo was bigger. =D The dragonfly is a beauty..! it's my first time seeing this color. Its wings have a touch of bluish iridescent, isn't it? Great capture!

And this mudskipper piques my curiosity, I wonder if it's a fish that goes on hiking when it feels bored.. =D

Pacey: We all have some good memories about childhood. Dragonfly is part of that.

Harumi: Mudskippers won't hike with me, but they jog.
It is too tedious for them to climb up the hill without any limbs. Just a joke.

I found them along my jogging trail beside a river.

I jog, if possible, twice a week, after work, and manage to hike only during weekend.

Harshi said...

oh ya.. I forgot they don't have limbs! lol But they use their fins to walk.. so they can still hike an anthill.. if they want. =D

Really? Good to hear that.
