Kingfisher

It started to drizzle but I decided to take a chance; I continued to cycle around the sport complex in Kangar knowing that birds, though never participate in any games, must be perching here and there in this quiet place, in the morning.

I was proven right when a Kingfisher was spotted beside a drain. There were no fish inside this small drain. I knew that, and it should know as well.

It changed my simple understanding about a Kingfisher in the next minute: a "fisher" catches not only fish, this king feeds on centipedes as well.

But then, is a butterfly a piece of butter that flies? Maybe a butterfly will let me know the next time I visit Cerok Tokun.

These are very good pictures of the kingfisher. I'm glad he cooperated and caught a 'fish' while you were there to get a photo.

I think he doesn't fish for kings either. I love this bird that you have shown us. I'm still hoping for pictures of our also beautiful kingfisher to show you some time.

Nice photos of the bird. Maybe it's the king of fishing. It can catch anything.

I hope I am adventurous enough to cycle from Penang to Kangar.

Anyhow, all these birds are sporty enough to reside in this place.

They may cheer the athletes or the sport men up at anytime.

My head is full of kookabura as I was reading into the court case because of this song. My first glance of your bird is that's a kookabura. Then I remember it is a kingfisher. so They look alike.

The blue in its feathers is beautiful. I have never really seen a kingfisher up close. Thanks for sharing.

Have a safe journey back home! My parent had several incident where they found dead kingfisher in their pond. Poor poor thing. The fish in the pond were too big for them anyway.

Rainfield, I love your kingfisher shots. The last with the centipede is great. I guess they will eat anything. Wonderful captures.
