Toad From the Moon

The toad croaked while I was reading in my bed. As the noisy and annoying lizards on the ceiling had retired, I managed to guess it must be a big one down there.

I went searching in my garden the next day. The toad was kind of embarrassing upon seeing me for which I did not have a good explanation at that moment.

The croaking sound stopped the following nights. After putting pieces of information together, these were what I read: The toad must have already returned to the Moon where it was summoned to compound and re-compound the elixir of life for thousands of years. It was so unlucky to be discovered, but the secret was still its own at that time.

It still croaks at night on the Moon; you are able to listen with the help of some luck.

I guess Beethoven had those, that's how he was inspired, and hence Moonlight Sonata can be played when my luck is absent.

Yes, must be their secret as I've heard of both being deadly and well, to many nit wits- an hallucinogenic? I warned my brother about them when he shipped both his J.R. terriers over. One of them almost died after the (second) bad encounter..hard heads. These shots are extra nice today- we have more toads and not as many frogs now (just the small ones) that were brought in with flowers and that- (they make it an effort to sing nicely?)
Enjoy your weekend-

I only heard crickets at my house, you can send your "Toad From the Moon" over, any time! (Ha, I wonder if I kiss it, would it turns into a prince?)

Nice Toad. Last month we had in our street and area small many baby toads. It was unbelievable. We certainly placed 10 small ones on the other side of the garden to protect them from our dogs.

Greetings,
Filip

"Ribbit-ribbit-ribbit..." talking to animals is also a habit of mine, for good--or not. Also talk to trees, grass, and everything, even--now-and-then--Peeps!

It is true what I'm writing here.

I have not seen a frog here. But the other day when we were clearing a spot to make a new veggie patch we encountered a black snake. Is it raining season there?

sometimes it is more soothing to hear other sound than the bragging and hateful worlds of politicians on TV.

When the frog is croaking, the cicadas cry, an owl hoots and the cricket goes chirping. Together they form an orchestra for Beethoven the dog to conduct. Perhaps Yiruma will play "Moonrise" on the piano while Brian Crain play "Moonlight".

Today, the constable who has been giving Safety lessons, told the children that at 3.30pm, that's when the kids come back to school, there is a lot of hoax calls from the kids.
The kids are told the parents are fined to warn them not to play on the phone.

Rainfield, the number to call is 999 in Malaysia.

I heard that some people say in Sarawak the frogs are caught to almost extinction. What about toads? People catch them for medicinal purposes.

He is much more handsome than our common toad who is lumpy and slow.

Immortality doesn't sound so tempting if I had to spent the time as a toad.

Now if I can only get my wife to make the Queen Mother of the West angry :)

What a gorgeous young specimen!! How do you know it is a toad and not a frog? I love your photos, especially the first one. I am not often able to get that close to wildlife. (read: I am a clumsy clot and scare them away at twenty paces)

What sweet toad pictures you take, Mr. Rainfield, sir.

I think they croak in indignation because, to my knowledge, only frogs can become princes when kissed by the lovely lass.
