Smurf Village

My belief told me it was a Smurf village.

It took me a few days to travel through the dense forest, deep marshes, and a mountain range before seeing those mushroom houses. They were found here and there, along and on the trail. Wow, I was in a Smurf Village where over 100 Smurfs lived and played!

It might be a disappointment for not meeting any one of the blue Smurfs, instead I was seeing a caterpillar roaming around, from one house to another. It might be assigned by the 543-year-old Papa Smurf the task of taking care the houses when they were traveling around.

I could not see any traces of these tiny blue creatures in this secluded mushroom village. They might have abandoned their village after spying my intrusion. The caterpillar was only then another intruder but having hundreds of legs.

If the later is a valid reason, I can only say a thousand apologizes. I happened to be there, just like how I had stumbled upon Wonderland of Alice. The Smurfs love and live peacefully with the Nature. So am I.

Note: Thank you for your kind words and for sharing in your memories of my Dad.

Rainfield, so sorry to hear about your father. My condolences to you and your family.

I see you have been to Smurf Village. Perhaps the smurfs were hiding inside their houses until the caterpillars left.

Well done! Clear pictures.

I have not watched that smurf cartoon for so long. Trust me, it was my favourite cartoon when i was a kid. I always imagined that i could be as small as them and visit their village.

If i am not mistaken, the last mushroom (in your photo) is eatable.

It looks like comfortable surroundings for the Smurfs with a roof over their heads to keep the sun & rain out.

Sorry to hear about your dad. My condolences.

I like that eye level macro shot.

The little village was planned so nicely. I know you looked hard for the Smurfs, so perhaps they were all off hunting for mushrooms. It's the right time of year.

Maybe those Smurfs mistook you for Gargamel. Or maybe they were out looking for truffles, their favorite food. Either way, I like your Smurfy Smurf village.

It DOES look like the Smurfs' village. They always hide from humans. We are a scary bunch.

That's such a wonderful Smurf village! I'm surprised that you remember the characters of the Smurfs cartoon so well. It used to be my favorite those days.. but I've only a faint memory of them.

Mushrooms are such fascinating things.. and you seem to stumble upon nature's treasures on a daily basis. ^__^

Diane:
Though I had not met any Smurfs, they were well inside my mind.

Willie/Wenn:
I did follow the cartoon series as well. Wonder why I cannot watch this anymore.

Kirigalpoththa/Sharkbytes:
I really needed an eagle eye to locate those Smurfs.

Loshini:
Thanks.

AVCr8teur:
I may need to draw a door and windows on the mushroom in order to make a complete house.

Tabib:
You love those in the air, my skill limits myself to the creatures on the ground.

Ratty:
We may look alike, but I do not have rotten teeth as what Gargamel is having.

Mother Goose:
We are a scary bunch, especially when we are holding a camera.
We are a paparazzi by then

George:
I am sorry to reveal the place where they lived. I think that's the reason they have to abandon the village.

Harumi:
^__^. Is this a smurfy smile?

Mei Teng:
There are smurfette, Sassette and so on. I hope I can see them, if not in the wild, in the air again.

Do you wonder why smurf only have one female?

Are the mushrooms edible? Or how do you know it they are edible.

Back long time ago, almost 100 years ago, when my mum's people arrived from China to Sarawak, a whole village almost went to drunken coma for 3 days. My grandma and some young women didn't or weren't allowed any. She thought they all had died.

For the rest of her life, she didn't/won't eat any wild mushroom
