Egrets, Cows, and Me

Egrets and cows are known to be very good friends. I tried to join them this morning.

Did my camera look like the black nose of a cow?

I did not think so.

The egrets had never landed on my back, neither I had succeeded in closing the gap between us. Our relationship only improved during a cow mooed, and I followed, from a far distance.

I thought I was a cow by now, but I was wrong. The egrets flew to the top of a nearby coconut tree, and never came back, no matter how accurate I mooed.

I shall mimic an egret next time, and an orange lens as its beak.

I think I would rather be an egret than a cow. Love your cattle egrets and cows! Great photos, Rainfield.

This somehow remind me of a folk song.
bangau oh bangau....
rumput of rumput kenapa kau panjang sangat?macam mana aku tak panjang, lembu tak makan aku.
Lembu oh lembu kenapa kau tak makan rumput?macam mana aku tak makan, perut aku sakit....

Lovely captures! You managed to get pretty near despite being bad in mooing.

It is amazing that these cows allow this.

If cows and egrets can be friends, you might have a chance too. You cannot be a cow by walking on two legs.

Both good costume ideas. ;)

I love these photos!! Amazing how that bird stood on that cow like that. Maybe you didn't quite have the right 'Mooo"..LOL But you really wouldn't want that Egret to land on your head would you? Ha! Could be quite messy. Enjoy your sunday.

Incredible pictures---especially the one with the egret on the back of the cow.
Whenever I try to take a picture of egrets, they fly away...

They get along so well though. No fighting or biting, but great companionship. Great photos!

While I think the cow is very sweet, I'll bet you are sweeter, dear rainfield. Your pictures are wonderful. It looks like you got pretty close to the critters, anyway!

If you mimic an egret, will you be able to fly better than you can moo? I really like your pictures in this post.

Oh these are great..they do love to perch up there! Very nice..perhaps if you wait patiently they may land on your shoulder (grin)

Great pictures! There are a lot of cows where I live now. I wonder if egrets like my cows too.

Egrets feed on various bugs lived in cows skin. So cows love them.
