Thus I see a mushroom in a crevice. It is reflecting a limited light source. It shines.
Alice should be able to see a caterpillar sitting on the mushroom, smoking hookah and puffing fat smoke rings, the "off-with-your-head" Queen shouting again and again at the top of her voice behind the mushroom, and the whole pack of cards, the King and the Queen all rising up into the air.
I see through Alice's eyes, through those furrows, twist and turn, drop steeply, and move on.
I am one of the Alices.

one mushroom, protecting the other!!! they are pretty and appear tiny!! we have not had many mushrooms as we have not had much rain!!!

Wshing you Sweet Dreams!! Like Alice (any of them), I don't need the substance that's in the caterpillar's hookah to see the beauty in this light-catching mushroom. (Although similar substances are now legal here in Oregon ;>)!
The Alice books were my favorite childhood books, given to me by my grandmother and first read aloud to me by my father. Many years later, it was strange to read the books to my grandchildren, knowing now what was in that pipe ...and wondering whether my very proper Victorian grandmother actually ever knew!
