Moment with Crabs

Apparently the crab is reading my mind. It looks up attentively to me, feeling naked but no whining, I watch it crawling nearer; it stops, and it stays.

Is that a broad grin on its face?

Only zooming in the LCD monitor, there I locate two tiny black dots in its green eyes.  I am wishing more.

Then I see many of them gathering around the mind reader. Before my next wish comes true, my wife calls to make a move.

The crabs march away.

It is actually my wife the mind commander.

From The Window

I want to show more pictures from the hotel windows, like Superman showing off the big red "S" and little red underpants.

These pictures will be forever beautiful and aging-proof, until Armageddon;

the sparkle is to always blink like a star, and the pinecone will never drop. Superman is definitely incomparable.

He always needs new underpants, in order not to lose his loose pants while flying in the air.  The red pants, my friend, are blowing in the wind. That is the joke of the year.

I am eager for the moment, and that shot will be a huge hit.

Squirrels

The same yesterday's squirrels are munching nuts again when I login to the hotel windows.

Throughout the morning, in the warmth of the sun, and the soothing breeze, they fill their small stomach with a handful of pine nuts playfully, in an upside-down defying g-force position,

a normal free-and-easy manner, or in whatever way they like to.

This is their way.

Service of Superman, not required. A bungalow to boast self-esteem, a Lamborghini to vroom around, or Google to enrich life further have never come into  their mind.

Living a life the way it is. It is now.

A Detour

They are monkeys. To be precisely complicated, they become long-tailed macaques, crab-eating macaques, 长尾猕猴, 食蟹猕猴,etc.

They are as invasive as humans, or vice versa, but they can always disguise themselves as The Thinker at the same time,

or show their disdain for the uninterested DSLR.

They are very common in Malaysia, I meet them every time I visit Cerok Tokun, and this time at Batu Caves.

"Batu Caves is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan. It is the focal point of Hindu festival of Thaipusam in Malaysia." (Wikipedia).

We made a detour to visit this place during the last trip to Bukit Tinggi.

Birding in a Busy City

There exists cultural differences between the urban and rural area, and I am not talking about those related to us.

If I have missed my feathered-friends at Fraser's Hill, their cousins returned ironically to me in Mines City.  City folks must have lost their minds living in a fast lane, no holiday was celebrated.

What's up? I saw white Egrets, Storks, Common Kingfishers, Pond Herons and more working through Christmas Eve. This was certainly good to me.

And they were never as relaxed as shown in pictures that always deceive us, but busy concentrating, waiting, watching, diving, and catching, and those daily routines repeated again and again, as to entertain us, the visitors.

One of the Pond Herons was found perching on a branch. It moved further up clumsily, trying to keep hidden behind some leaves upon seeing me.

It never flew away, and that seemed odd.

It might need a doctor. Can the charge be double, triple or more during holidays?

City folks lose their minds living in the fast lane.
