It is always true that the early bird gets the worm, but only the second mouse gets the cheese. Failing to be the former, we lost the worm, but the consequence of being the first mouse is fatal, yet this unlucky one is a must in order to get the story started.
When to be the first one or the second is crucial which I need to consult the woods, or to observe the comings and goings, in the jungle.

Interesting post, do you think the critters wonder if it is worth being first or second. Wonderful photos.
Hi,
I like the 1st one most. They look after their children very carefully, some times more than human.
Definitely the first one. So cute and nice words.
I think you must be first on the mountain each day to get such beautiful pictures. These are wonderful.
I was happy to find I could enlarge the first photo! Terrific..of course your rain dusted macros are sharp as well! I think you have an excellent point about the first and second. Sade (singer), on the subject- "one day it's chicken and another day it's feathers" I never thought of the second mouse being so lucky!
Glad to see you back..hope everything is ok..:)
I don't mind being the second, since it looks awesome in that sand tone color.
Excellent shot, that third one... very sharp...
Now I'm not sure whether I'd like to be first or second, an early bird or a mouse. I think I'd like to be the first so I can face the danger.
The little critter looks like it is walking right into a spider web. Great shots! Wise thoughts. Do you want photos of mouse, birds and worms to go along with the story? I have photos of dead mouse caught by Clifford. :)
How interesting, for the second to appear victorious, the first has to jump in, succumb and sacrificed.
Is that embun on the 2nd photo?
The insect looked like it was swimming in the 2nd last photo :)
I love the way a you write your post, giving perspective to all these wonderful photos,so unique!
I agree with Ratty.
Beautiful photos! Well done!
Well, I'm confused, but maybe the second monkey ate the grasshopper?
love these photos! Especially the Monkies!!
I can hear that cricket chirp.
This must be a male sp.
Ah ya you!!!!!, my husband already say I am 6 months pregnant. LOL
You go and buy 4D, 0899,
If you see a Fiat 1100 in Penang, snap a photo for me. i have been looking for it.
I find the first photo more wonderful!
Interesting post!
I have many monkeys in my place that sometimes i overlook them...
as always, wonderful thoughts, and so are the photos.
The 2nd and 3rd picture look like a 'chee chut' or cengkerit, those that little boys like to catch and keep. I think the birds will love it, just like we love KFC!
very interesting. you are indeed full of wisdom.
Love your (to me: new) header) Rainfield!
Very beautiful post!

interesting abt the second mouse n the cheese. never thought of it like that before
