"The eye sees a thing more clearly in dreams than imagination awake."
My pupils were dilated to see the trail under the moon. Dark moving figures, near or far, tall or short, were coming toward or going away from me. The darkness was saturated, and people kept silent. I could not hear the babblers chirping.
Only the raindrop was willing to tell layers of story through its startling bright eye, but I had the feeling those were related to a reptile. The forked tongues were hidden, though not completely.
My pupils started to contract when the moon had disappeared. There were actually more to see. And I always saw Dusky Leaf Monkey stayed very quiet atop some trees. Very tame, yet so very confused.
It must have awaken fully.

That is a fantastic shot of the monkey. Seriously, it's great and I'm jealous. :)
You walk there at night? Not dangerous ar especially the slithering forked tongue thing! Eyes following you in the dark...scary! The cute little monkey I dont mind, always encounter its relation in my morning walk too.
wow, that monkey's eyes look so big!
That little monkey is the cutest thing, rainfield. How big is he, actually? I would be so timid out there on a night tril with creepy crawlies, moon or no moon, especially by myself.
The three pictures are great.
I think I would be too afraid of the dark the take a walk at night...
You are brave to be in the woods at night. I love the cute monkey and its beautiful eyes. Great shots.
The eyes of the Dusky Leaf monkey are so beautiful, and so was the raindrop! Wonderful photos..
I like the photo of the DROP.. so clear..
My what big eyes you have.
The better to freak you out with
...said the dusty leaf monkey
The theme for this post is black - for the moon, the rain drop and also the monkey but this is a beautiful black!
Very nice subject, you have a lot of imagination
This was sure a treat!! I could enlarge everyone! Your right, I think they leave impressions we're not always aware of? Your moon puts mine to shame..but it's still counts I suppose (ha ha). Somehow you manage to get quite the expressions! Very enjoyable-
I would be leary of walking about in the dark! I like the photo of the little monkey, how cute!
Grate macros. I have never seen that type of monkey in Sri Lanka.
Wow, a night hike. I haven't done very much of that. But I know that there are lots of great things to see. Love the monkey.
Great shots, especially your header!
Some great photos there, and nice thoughts to go with them!
Excellent shot! but...i hate monkeys in my garden!
each one of them is unique and very well taken, the monkey however is something not everyone of us can shoot any day, unless we go to the zoo :(
you are so clever to capture that water droplet. I have yet to do it.
What do you mean it was not so complicated 20 years ago? You became a Kiwi?
i am fascinated more n more by yr writing :)
I liked the monkey photo very much!
Well done!
Beautiful eyes!
The monkey looks like he was hypnotized, perhaps it was the moon.
What can I say? A super WOW of course!!!
Stunning shots! My fave is the raindrop. You made me wish more for a macro lens.
