It noticed me, though upside down, but I continued to take time to setup tripod and extension tubes, and to clear blockages.
It was busy gnawing, chewing and eating while I was busy snapping; no, this little bug seemed to be curious again about the passer-by but wasted only another second or two.
I had then sacrificed a whole piece of flower in return for a high level of photographic satisfaction, but a flower a day keeps my cucumber away, that is not good.
It was however good not to see the bug again the following day.
It suffered from indigestion after a heavy meal.

And the color of that cucumber flower looks delicious..Gorgeous photos of the bug which has almost the same color as the flower!
this was too cute. i LOVE the 2nd shot. he looks so adorable!!!
indigestion or your cucumber plant cursed the little bug? LOL!
so tripod and extension tubes are the secrets to your stunning macros?
These are great macro shots! I love photographing insects. They're so interesting. You really did a phenomenal job on this!
Very nice series on the bug !
Auf dem zweiten Foto schaut er sehr lustig aus...:-)

These are wonderful macros of the bug at 'work', but if he keeps getting indigestion from heavy meals you won't have any cucumbers at all.
Great close-ups of the bug's cute face and it only cost part of a flower, sounds like a good deal!
awesome close ups. i am not a bug lover but these images might change my mind!!
Wow! again ~ awesome photography ~ love the tiny bug looking at you ~ ~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)
What a cute little red bug. Love it!
Now he is a cute little bug but needs to go on a diet. He is also very acrobatic :) Fantastic shots, Rainfield
i love your photos...i was taking about them yesterday and telling my friends how much of an appreciation of the world i am getting from your macroshots. (is that the right word?)
For a bug, it is quite cute. Your cucumbers live another day. Hopefully, you will get a chance eat it first.
AMAZING!
Little bug says, "There MUST be a God, if a man carrying around his kid hanging from around his neck, with one big eye which WINKS at me, time and again.
Don't know about the dad, but the one-eyed black thingie (his kid) is real cute....I think!
(Does that mean 'I am'?")
ne little bug went out one day,
Over the flower petals far far away,
After the fiesta, little bug will have an afternoon siesta!
you always make me laugh Rainfield. and what beautiful and crisp pictures you have.
Crisp photographs as your cucumbers should be if the little gourmet doesn't elminate them all. He is quite daring, munching right in front of you.
Above and beyond the call of duty but I am so proud of your dedication. I would have succumbed at first bite.
Great macro series, Rainfield. I hope your cucumbers survive the bugs. Have a great weekend.
Brought up as farmers, we grew cucumbers and this bug is one of the culprit eating up the young leaves. Farmer & bugs, not a good combination. But this one looks gorgeous tho.
A curious little fellow! His eyes were obviously bigger than his tummy!
Hugs back at you!
Very interesting and colorful bug you have there! It does have nice eyes.. They sure can eat a lot. Hope it got sick and won't be back to destroy those pretty cucumber flowers. You will have nothing to put in your salad..Ha! Have a nice weekend.
Beautiful shots, Mr. Rainfield, and the colors in these photos are amazing.
Great photos,
but, as a gardener, it's a bad-news bug.
Fight for your garden produce!
He's a cutie, but when we used to garden I would have been pretty darn upset to see him on my plants.
Oh...nice shots...amazing! Love
BShell
Now, that is a very funny story!
Beautiful! Love the color of the cucumber and the color of the bug..

Lovely pics and the bug seems camera friendly!!! Wish you a wonderful week ahead:)
What fun to follow a colourful bug around, capturing it with your lens!
Great series! Love that line "a flower a day keeps my cucumber away..." Makes me laugh!
Beautiful macro shots!
Bugs need to eat flowers and we need to take pictures. I always like the bug pictures you take.
Your're just so funny! hhahahhaa...
Beautiful pictures of the little beetle, The second picture is the absolute best / brita
Funny! And great shots!
Jemu wszystko jedno w jakiej pozycji go sfotografowałeś, najważniejsze jest jedzenie. Faktycznie może dostać niestrawności po takim obżarstwie. Pozdrawiam.
Him in whatever position he did photograph the most important is the food. In fact, it can get indigestion after such a hearty meal. Yours.
oops... need to check my cucumber for this baby. I don't want to lose my cucumber.
