A Rare Visitor

I have been offered rentals in scottsdale, where natural wonders of the Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Asteroid craters, and the most diverse ecosystems in the world can be found.

I was then preoccupied thinking about a rare visitor that asked for a rental too. I explored further, but was so funny to find myself looking at a fake pair of eyes of this Oleander Hawk moth.

So different from most moths or butterflies, it was so cool while being annoyed continuously. I offered this critter a free stay with conditions: eat no grapes and leaves, spoil no flowers, shit no on fruits, and the list would continue.

It said nothing, but silence is consent, and maintained in a comfortable perching position. It should have sensed my good name in the kingdom of critters, a good old man who has license but never kill.

But I might be a fool again. It had actually fallen into sleep right from the beginning. I talked only to deaf ears, yet felt so high, that I used to do.

Anyway, welcome to my garden.

I admired those photos very much. Before I did not know which is to call kupu-kupu or rama-rama.

I stare at it, and still can't tell if it is a real moth, or a dead leaf. It looks wonderful though, and your condition sounds good. I hope the moth listens to you.

These are wonderful macros of the new visitor to your garden. You have good eyes to even see him, since he blends in so well with his surroundings.

You visitor looks very scary. Maybe birds will leave him alone.

How do you find this? You must be looking for hours between the leaves.

Greetings,
Filip

This is an exotic species, you should offer free stay without condition...

your posts always bring me smiles and joy Rainfield, those pictures of the hawk moth are awesome, and if i too would be given by my landlord so many conditions, i probably would be silent too :)

I have seen this moth here as well. An alien like appearance in a camouflage kit. I'm sure he is a master of chasing potential predators away.

This is the moth I am suppose to meet soon. My periwinkles are infested with the Oleander Hawk Moth Caterpillar. This moth looks very unique. Glad to see it here as I don't think I would be wandering with a torch light looking for it.

Perhaps you made too many demands and it pretended not to hear you and hoped you would go away. In its silent state, you were able to take some nice shots of it.
