My observation tells me that there are two types of nonsense: fatal and non-fatal nonsense. A butterfly observes that the fatal nonsense always comes from the sky.
No matter where I was, the butterfly remained cautious about the direction above it. I was glad to be honored as a nobody.
A nobody is very much better than a disaster which comes from the sky, that is the literal meaning of the Chinese proverb, " 祸从天降".
But this is just the perception of a simple-minded butterfly, and the proverb is taken too seriously.
I had to force it to look in every direction, at least, photographically.

Congratulations, very good macros !
Well, I sure like the macro of your header! How did you catch that? too perfect!! These are terrific as well as your musings. Now I especially like how you included the Chinese meaning- really enjoy the lettering..it would be neat to see that more often:)
I like you new header. Somehow it reminds me of Star Wars.
No matter, I trust you have great macros in your mind. Butterflies are best example for the colorful world.
You city boy, my grandparents on both sides lived in the SAN BA, every night, watching my uncle light the DAI KWONG DENG was fun. We all had a go helping to pump the lamp. To this day, I have no idea what material they used for the bulb. It was a collapsible fabric. Once I touched it, and it dissolved. It was always my secret. My uncle thought it was a faulty bulb.
When you go trekking in Borneo, I can be your jungle guide, and you won't starve if you get lost. LOL
Wow ...Wonderful photos!
Is that a moth or a butterfly Rainfield? I think it didnt consider you as a threat! So it just ignored you..
Great new header pic..Wow!
These are wonderful macros of the butterfly. I'm glad the butterfly considered you as a non-fatal nonsense and allowed you to get these great pictures.
Utterly fantastic macros!! If you don't mind me asking, what type of lens do you prefer for macro shots?
The new header picture is great, just as the shots of the butterfly. And I learned a new proverb :)
another great set of photo collection. BTW, I love the new header.
Is that a male or female lady bug? Aiyah! I dont' read Chinese la. Next time, pls include Hanyu Pinyin. I do speak Chinese. If I can read, most likely I will understand.
Lovely shots. I think I have seen this type here too.
Wonderful capture, Rainfield! You're going after the butterfly in every angle.
Love the butterfly in the first photo.
Hello! Very beautiful macro photos!
as always, you take very crsip macro shots and feed us with wisdom.
Rainfield, your header photo is awesome. How wonderful the beautiful stuck around and posed for you. Great photos.
Lovely close-up photos of the butterfly. I've never seen a butterfly in so much detail before!
Even a plain brown butterfly can be interesting when viewed so closely. I can't decide if it looks vigilant or frightened.
Beautiful photos - though I am sure danger, for the unwary butterfly, could even come from below!
You, my friend, have become a macro magician!
