Are birds educated? Do they attend classes like we do? If yes, do they ever skip school like some of us?
I am not too crazy to ask this question. It has its own reason.
I saw a Kingfisher perching at this signboard which read as "a restricted area", and you can read the universal language as an alternative. "A man is holding a rifle, the other is shot". It was laughing so loud and was teasing me with its mouth wide open, body shook to left and right, up and down. Though impolite, and somehow its body language hurt me, it was picturing the truth. The truth is sometimes cruel.
This educated Kingfisher was laughing. No bird was shot.
I turned away from the place which was intended to be my paradise, where I had spent many hours taking pictures, pondering and observing. This educated Kingfisher simply shied me away, from the dam this morning.

I hope you will go back in spite of the laughing kingfisher, You did get a great picture of him, however.
What a beautiful bird!
Very handsome bird. I can only imagine what it sounds like as it laughs.
You had me laughing at the laughing Kingfisher. What a great capture and a great post.
Interesting sign, even more fascinating with the colorful kingfisher on it. Nice shot of the laughing kingfisher too!
yes, sometimes, birds behave in the strangest way :) i have a similar picture where the gull was sitting on the sign "trail closed, do not enter" but instead of laughing, the gull has a very mean look :)
the kingfisher must be very happy on seeing you since he can have fun at your expense :) what a beautiful bird and thanks for sharing.
Don't get hurt, it's just all in the mind :D
Birds are definitely educated. Thats why they always move just when you want to take a photograph.
I love the colourful kingfishers we are blessed with in our part of the world.
I guess you adjusted something because I can now view the pictures in a larger size.
Yes, they are educated.
Only us human can't read that prominent "Kawasan Larangan" red sign board.
Maybe the kingfisher thought you were one of the men in the picture. Or he could be laughing at you because he is so much more colorful. Next time you can wear a colorful shirt and then laugh at him.
Im laughing too after reading this post :D
That kingfisher is so amazing! When you say it laughs I wonder if it sounds like our laughing gull, or a kookaburra (which we don't have, but I know a funny song about it).
next time point back at it and laugh :)
Birds are exempted from the restricted zones. Humans are not exempted :)
Here's wishing you a wonderful New Year!
