Zebra doves are frequently heard with a series of soft and staccato “croo-coo” calls at the roof top in my neighbourhood. They also like out strolling on bare ground or along a quiet road, and never hurry to fly off while we are driving towards them. They always manage to keep cool and be relaxed in most of the time.
I saw a couple of them perching on a cable line at Bukit Mertajam railway station.
People come people go; people feel excited going for holiday or coming home for their long missed family; people sorrow over the end of their holiday or sad to leave their loved one.
They witness all these day in and day out, and continue to keep croo-cooing softly on top of the cable.
They are always so calm and peaceful.
"Croo-coo, croo-coo."
"Croo-coo, croo-coo."
People come people go; people feel excited going for holiday or coming home for their long missed family; people sorrow over the end of their holiday or sad to leave their loved one.'

and awsum pics.
they remind me of the birds in a row in the opening scene of monsters inc. :)
ReplyDeletelove your thoughts about zebra doves and the picture of the railway station. indeed, people come and go, sometimes I can't help but feel sorry I met some people that I should have not met, but then, at the end of the day I realized they are still blessings in helping me strengthen my character.
ReplyDeleteI see birds sat on wire like in your pictures, and I also saw them looking down at people passing in and out..I think you translate these feelings very well.
ReplyDeletespecial with those wires
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, those type of doves are tamer than their other counterpart. Some time back, a pair nested in our neighbor's gutter and we even saw the eggs... BTW, the railway photo is nice, Rainy. :)
ReplyDeleteIts just as you've described.. doves and their cooing, are so endearing- bringing back or a connection to so many memories-they've been around. Thanks- great captures:)
ReplyDeleteThey look like our Mourning Doves here. They also sit on wires and "Coo, Coo. When they make that sound their necks puff up.
ReplyDeleteDoves are some of my favorite birds. Their coo-coo sound is just like you say. It's such a soothing sound.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful inspiring words and nice pics of the birdies. But.. I was expecting to see some stripes on them as you called them zebra doves. lol
ReplyDeleteThe birds seem to have no problem at all. Lucky creatures.

We start to think and imagine once we open up our mind.
I love to do it again and again.

People come and go, we are fated to meet each other but not strong enough to know each other.

Their cooing is soothing, especially in a quiet afternoon.
Ginnymo:
They have a close relative with the name Peaceful Dove. They look alike. And I like the name.

Sorry for that. The zebra lines faded after a raining night.
Nice words. Great pictures to accompany ur words too.
ReplyDeleteAny one shoot these wild pigeons? Your train starts in Singapore?
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my frustrations... I always wanted to take photos of those birds on the cable wire. I always see them when I pass by but I just can't stop in the middle of the road. Love how you put story to your photos.
ReplyDeleteLovely post, Rainfield. Croo-coo, croo-coo, all is well. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute together and their coo cooing suite them well. I also really like that train station bell shot.
ReplyDeleteI love doves...we have some everyday at our feeders..you are right..they look serene and peaceful and I love their coo-ing.
ReplyDeleteOh these are zebra doves. Have never heard of this name before.
