I met a new friend when hiking at Penang Hill. It was thought to be a kind of ball shape of seed initially, but this is its reaction to danger actually.
It is named pill millipede, a not-quite-sweet name. Nobody likes pill.
We were friend finally, because no matter how much I poked or scratched its back, it just kept crawling.
I laid a piece of leaf, wanting it to climb at a small angle aiming to shoot its front view, it always avoided.
Until I had lost my patience, it managed to prove that I did not have the quality of a good photographer.
Only a good friend tells the truth.
Hello, always nice to meet new friends. Cool shots of the Millipede. Wishing you a happy weekend!
ReplyDeletewe have similar pill bugs here. they are fondly called 'rollie pollies'. :)

Isn't it nice to have a new friend? You did great coaxing him to crawl on the leaf.
ReplyDeleteI never seen this type of millipede! Anyway good that you make friend to a new friend! ;)
ReplyDeleteBack in the last century, my children made friends with similar bugs quite regularly. (In Oregon we called them rolly-polys.) My little ones loved to find them in the garden and make them curl up and uncurl. I have found more than one in pockets when I did the laundry. That is why I am a woman who is not squeamish about bugs and snakes and worms and such things -- I have seen them all and found most of them in my sons' pockets !!
