Oops, I haven't made any appointment. This unprepared spider never seems to stop knitting in preparation for its breakfast. Photography opportunity? Not its business. A blog update? Not its cup of tea, or bottle of Cola.
But after years of friendship which is hard to leave, and impossible to forget, mushrooms are always ready.
They pose elegantly, magically and, as a result, they are hallucinogenic, especially in pictures.
They are irresistible, and are always played in my mind theater in which Superman appears only during commercials.
I hope the spider finds something yummy for breakfast..Cute mushrooms. Wonderful series of images, Rainfield.. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLovely light in the spider images, and I always like your mushrooms.

Spiders are not my cup of tea though you photograph them beautifully...ummm, wonder if anyone has ever tried spider tea? Definitely, I'm sure someone has had a drink or two of mushroom tea...not me, though. I prefer to admire their beauty in the forest or to do them in needlework.
ReplyDeleteHey, rainfield, I just saw an ad on your blog that said "70 year old looks 40". Was that a hint for me?
ReplyDeleteLove how the rings of the web mirror the rings of the stump
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your shots
ReplyDeleteif only the spiders were as ready for your blog as the mushrooms. This one seems ready though.
ReplyDeleteSuch lovely nature shots.
ReplyDeleteYour mushrooms do seem always ready but here they disappear over the winter, and the spiders that can be found are living in my house... but great shots of the spider spinning silk and attaching it to the web, aren't they good architects?

You cannot expect the spider to stop her work in order to entertain you! I always like to watch others work anyway and she looks pretty good as she toils away! But the mushrooms need to do nothing but sit and be beautiful. That is enough.
ReplyDeleteLOL @Sallie. Love the spider and the mushrooms are always obediently posing for you.
ReplyDeleteGreat macro shots and your commentary made me chuckle. A lovely post and thank you so much for linking with Today's Flowers :)
ReplyDeleteI love the light and the bokeh in the first photo!!! And I have never seen the light coming through a spider's legs, the way you have captured in the second!!!
ReplyDeleteNice and devious series :)
ReplyDeletenot only a beautiful photograph of a spider, but also a wonderful mind theater :)
