It is the joy of
spiders when cobwebs overwhelm
the jungle.
While most people
believe a spider is so creepy, being able to make it looks the other way round
is surely the joy of an old man.
If it happens to turn into a handsome celebrity like a frog into a prince, this is then beyond the simple joy and the simple life of a simple old man.
However, a spider that was seen in last week was still a spider today when I went hiking this morning.
The X is amazing, and unbelievable! Amazing catch on your part too. You might be thinking you're an old man, but with that pair of eyes, I think you have X rated vision.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!
I am not afraid of spiders, especially yours. I have to say you are be young at heart. I enjoy your simple joys! Cool captures of the web, spider and the X. Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteOh now that is one very talented creative spider and I must admit you capturing it is awesome. B

ReplyDeletehappy thanksgiving!!
ReplyDelete:)
I'm not afraid of spiders, but I do not like cobwebs. I greet warmly.
ReplyDeletespiders are still crawlies and crawlies give me the shivers no matter how pretty they are. But I am amazed at Mr spidy's creation of an X. Why, I didn't know spiders are 'artsy' lol..
ReplyDeleteI love your description of the x spider! We have a spider who does that too...maybe the same?
ReplyDeleteYour spider looks cute! Unlike mine.
ReplyDeleteThe 'X' made by the spider is amazing. You did a great job of capturing it with your photo. Your macros are fantastic.

ReplyDeleteOlá, amigo!
Apesar de assustadora, pois parece venenosa, é colorida e muito bonita.
Nunca tinha visto X em teias de aranhas antes!
Bom fim de semana!

Rainfield, in most of your so called nature hiking cum stories, they sounded rather daunting to your so called old man's life. Sad to hear that, somehow, do enjoy life, yeah!
ReplyDeleteThis is a simple joy. It took me all of my youth to learn not to jump at the sight of a spider. Now I spend my time with spiders getting as close as I can to see their beauty.
ReplyDeleteamazing "X"!! webs are really a work of art!!
ReplyDeletelot's of great detail in these awesome close ups!!
Regardless, dear rainfield, while I can admire the beauty of a web, I want to stay clear of any and all spiders.
ReplyDeletethis spider definitely has the X factor))))

That is a great web! It probably does mean it's for adults only, but only because children are too young to appreciate this kind of miracle!
ReplyDelete(I'm not afraid of spiders especially big beautiful ones like this one...and especially when they're out in the woods, which really belong to them, more than to us!) But I am very very glad that you visited these woods and shared your pictures. Thank you!!!!
Pity the spiders sometimes... think most of them are harmless...
ReplyDeleteThis X is incredible. Even the spider's legs are in the shape of the X....
ReplyDeletethe X is probably a camouflage, or he's marking his territory?:p
ReplyDeletei don't have an idea on the life span of spiders...but weaving an X is perhaps his magnum opus.:p
Great photo!
ReplyDeleteI think the spider is working for Santa and wants to remind us:
x-mas is comming soon...?
Spinlar that scares the life out of many, weaves such beautiful surfaces, gauzy nets that shimmers in the light gaming. So delicious! / Brita

ReplyDeleteMine's here.
What a beautiful spider, and an interesting web. I'm happy to let the spiders have their way except across trails- first person always clears the webs with his/her face. Very thoughtful.
ReplyDeletei agree with Icy, you have an x rated vision. such a surprise for an old man.
ReplyDeletegreat captures, btw. as always...
I think it was painting a self-portrait.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hug. B

ReplyDeleteVery cute post--wonder what his intentions were! Thank you so much for visiting my blog regularly and learning a little something about Tucson AZ. I am VERY behind in answering people's comments and I apologize!
ReplyDeleteHe's Mr. X who's 10 years old, who recently moved from Planet X. And now he's weaving an X-shaped xylophone to play the X-citing theme song of X-Men. :D
ReplyDeleteBTW that spider is a beauty!
