Nothing seemed to bother this couple of ants. They were having a private moment away from the crowd, that was very strange as to the behavior of ants.
They stuck to each other for a long while. They looked quiet but might not be actually the case, though they never talked and shouted like us.
I tried and always wanted to make my own judgement, thinking that was not right to have a private meeting. I separated them but they came back.
They hid underneath a piece of leaf in the first place, hoping that they were not seen. Somehow we met each other along our journey that they could not know earlier.
I went passed the intersection point. They stayed.
It's cute to see them behaving like this. I enjoy seeing such photos. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteThis is another great set of macros, although I'm not sure the ants enjoyed you taking pictures of them.
ReplyDeleteIncredible there behavior...
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos!
A private moment away..or so they thought? This has got to stop Rainfields! (lol)
ReplyDeleteI am in awe over the header photo-its wonderful! As for the ants, must be a top-secret meeting they are having.
ReplyDeleteso cute. looks like they were sunbathing.

ReplyDeleteHahaha..you peeping Tom la Rainfield! What tales you spun and great shots too with your lovely creatures from Cerok Tokun!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures and excellent commentary.
ReplyDeleteHi
ReplyDeleteSo were you weather eye their private movement? What a nice pair?
Sunbathing, it might well have been something more intimate, ruthi! I'm not an expert on amorous activities of ants but I doubt that they appreciate human interlopers intruding on any possible romantic moments. You old voyeur you, Mr. Rainfield!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have probably given them a complex!
LOL. I remember my science project about ants and pheromone, even seperated they still can track each other footsteps.
ReplyDeleteYou're such a great observer, and took wonderful pictures..but I bet you they would like their private moment to be private :-)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful couple!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fantastic macro shot! The ants are so cute!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. What an extraordinary behaviour!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful macro photos, Rainfield. Were they not surprised to find out they were not alone? You always manage to sneak up on something happening. Great captures.
ReplyDeleteWhat are they doing?
ReplyDeletealways admire your amazing observation of the many wonders around us, telling us the depth of your patience, imagination and talent.
ReplyDeleteyes it is quite rare they have a private moment.. mostly they move in groups
ReplyDeletesynchronize dancing? I think the Ibans eat this. I was told, heat up your wok to very hot. Put the live ants, see them jump about and then it is ready. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteYou learn from an honourary Iban like me, if you get lost trekking in the jungle, you will never starve.
Did you trek up the Himalayas to get the crystals?
Haha...two ants enjoying their moment :)
ReplyDeleteYou are quite the voyeur, or scientist...
ReplyDeletenot so private anymore since you're there shooting at them +P
