We are part of the Zoo

Out of sudden I saw this sardonic smile while taking pictures of the monkeys. What did this mean? Did it indicate contempt, rudeness, mockery or malice?

They were staying at the top of a tree in front of me. I thought I could defend myself by swinging my backpack if something should happen, and I saw this one grinned sardonically, so I knew I should not provoke in a same manner.I continued with my shooting carefully.

It was only this scornful tongue that I knew I was surrounded by a colony of monkeys. I must have accidentally intruded into their territories.

I backed off silently, quickly and immediately. They are monkeys.

If you think you have to take a trip to the zoo to keep up with me, I shall say no, no and no. Take a big step backward and pull your camera back, both you and me are actually living in a spherical zoo.

And today is just another Monday in this zoo.

  7. Gosh, I wouldn't have a clue how to act around monkeys. Can they be aggressive (I've read that they can). Your world is SO different from mine.

  14. I remember the monkeys when we went to Penang.

My hair is still black enough so I don't have to spend my money on dying my hair. Don't you think Chinese with Yellow hair is real ugly?

Color my face yellow too, not only will I become HWANG LIAN PO, people will think I am a visitor during the July Hungry Ghost festival. May be a banana pontianak?

I must post some old photos of when we were in Penang, Old ones lah, not the Hwang Lian Po ones.

  17. They are still fascinating to see. One is ok, but if it's a colony then be safe and get out..

    Funny capture of the money!

  18. I think they were laughing at all the humans coming to visit them. If only you spoke monkey language to interpret their mockery.

  23. Those photos were taken on our first visit to Penang, about 15 years ago. Of course I was younger then, LOl, Not the Ah Mu as my husband calls me.

Our fate had not met then, but next time I visit Penang, I will go and ask the monkeys where to find you.
