Top of the World

My hiking seems incomplete if I never walk to the top. Cerok Tokun is not high enough to view the popping-up sun, but this is where I can cast the shadow of my burden behind, and drain the striking stress to the ground, like a lightning rod. (I laughed at myself at first when I thought of this weird description, but it is still in one piece after being struck by lightning. Isn't it?)

Staying on the top to embrace tranquility and freshness, and reaching the limit is always a delight. What is your side of view?

They of course concur with me though the reason may be different, and they may walk, whereas I never fly.

Every action seemed to echo, and it echoed, when I shouted on the top of the world.

  6. These are wonderful pictures of the bugs on top of the leaves. And although I like hiking in the sunlight on top of a mountain I also enjoy the shadows of the canyons. Thanks for a great post.

  7. Love your bugs ! Great post Rain! Thanks for the comments on my blog. I'm not taking as many photos lately but am getting better each day and able to push the camera button pretty good now without pain. Three more weeks and the cast comes off!

  8. Oh my...good capture, Rainy! To think those bugs are so tiny! I am often distracted by bugs too, and end up photographing them! Glad you were refreshed by your hike. :) Keep safe!

  9. I like your images of bugs climbing on leaves. I prefer exploring canyons where there is some shade from the hot desert sun.

  10. The leaves must be delicious for the bugs to swarmed all over them :)

  12. I feel the same, if I don't make it to the top then my walk is incomplete. It's like a finish line. You must be feeling very fit these days with all that walking you do :)

  14. I'd like to be able to hike to the top of a place one day to be as high as a lightning rod. The places I go have only small hills. And seeing bugs this time of year must be great. Our bugs are now just beginning to come back.

  15. There's a song with those words "on top of the world". Can't remember who sang it though.

  16. All the little creatures in your photos have made their way to the top of a leaf. I wonder how they feel? Hiking to the top whether it is a mountain or a goal is a rewarding achievement.

They all have the munchies. So I am. How about you, after a long walk?

    Icy BC:
You mean they are edible? No joke?
Or they eat beautiful photos with hesitation.

    Tabib:
    Of course.

    betchai:
I do fully agree with you. Both places tell us different stories.

    Sharodindu:
    Hi! Welcome back.

    George:
You are definitely right. Hopefully I can discover some hidden canyons over here, otherwise, love to visit yours in one day.

    Ginnymo:
We always take this clicking action for granted. Do take care.
I'll take care of my fingers too.

    Tes:
Yes!! Keep safe! By the way, this place is much safer than our concrete jungle.

    Diane:
The dense wood and jungle canopy do give me a very good shelter. The hot sun is not a problem at all.

    VanillaSeven/Kirigalpoththa:
These are their fried chicken. lol.

    ohmywtf:
    Nice to see you.

    Cate:
I do all the walking everyday. I only walk for myself in the weekend.

    Ratty:
Cerok Tokun is actually a small hill. My imagination tells it is very big.

    Mei Teng:
Yes. The group was called The Carpenters.

    AVCr8teur:
They don't have time to do blogging, and hence I do not know they feel.

  18. I see a world of difference between us. My landscape is still snow white, the only green growing is moss and the only bug I've spotted is a woolly bear caterpillar that may not wake from it's long winter sleep.

  21. You walk to the top of your world to explore and escape any worries. But when the little insects climb to the top of their world they eat. I think they explore as well.

  22. Well said. Hmmm...I would say that I enjoy climbing to the top towards the sun but I also love climbing down to the bottom as well and seeing what holds us up.
