Dry. Dam. and Day.

The hot weather over here is going into an intolerable level. I do not know how good you are, but 36°C has really made me crazy. Cerok Tokun, no doubt, is a place to escape from this, but she has also greatly been challenged.

This picture which was taken in last January depicts mystery and eeriness.

The above picture from last Sunday morning shows the water level has not only dropped by at least two feet, the dam has also surrendered her mystery and my imagination by the same depth. How cruel the simple fact is to limit my mind theater from running wild.

The further drop in water level, just like peeling off layers of clothes, will expose more unknowns. It can either be a delight, or simply an eyesore. But this dry season will on other hand change our life style. A scheduled water supply will be the next to come.

Can you pass some of your snows over?

  1. I would melt at something far below 36 C. Too hot for me! Sit still with a cold drink.

  2. I am sorry about your hot weather and that the water has receded and your mysterious creature has been revealed. There are new mysteries for you to discover somewhere.

  3. Please feel free to ship some of your heat over here. We've been through the coldest winter in over thirty years. I hope you will share any new secrets revealed by the dropping water levels.

  6. Be expecting about 4 feet of snow. I sent it out to you yesterday.
P.S. It is coming C.O.D., so I hope you have the money to pay UPS when it gets there.

  9. Countries in Asia Pacific region are experiencing the El Nino phenomenon. My home country is experiencing the same way too. Our dams are getting drier and there's scarcity for the drinking water supply. Too bad for us.

I remember that photo that you have taken last January and I can see the difference from the shot that you have taken last Sunday.

  11. What is that creature that seems to be crawling out of the water? I don't have any snow to send you, but I might be able to send you some rain.

  16. Sharkbytes:
I wouldn't melt at this temperature, but get burning. A cold drink wouldn't help to put off the fire.

    Diane:
Yes, as an adventurer, I must believe that there are new mysteries for me to discover somewhere.

    George:
I have been through this hot weather many months in every year. Wonder whether your snows are good enough.

    Loshini:
Oh!! Thanks for the reminder. Who knows, the crazy weather may be another source of inspiration.

    Willie:
Ouch!! You must have felt that as well.

    Tes:
Hahaha... Our brain frequency somehow matched with each other yesterday.

    The Retired One:
Please give me a quote before you send, otherwise I'll RTV (return to vendor)the snow to you.

    Mei Teng:
I can feel the sweat is flowing down to my feet currently.

    Ayie:
    Hi! I'm hot.

    Misalyn:
I am glad you have that good memory. The difference between those two picture is significant.

    Kirigalpoththa:
Crocodiles are too heavy to go hiking. I can see only Monitor Lizards.

    AVCr8teur:
I see no creature, my friend. Please don't scare me.

    Mike:
There was a very short rain fall yesterday night that didn't help much.
Hopefully the SW monsoon will be here as soon as possible.

    Robin:
I'll collect it from S. Pole tonight. By the way, do I need to pay to any one of the "Big Giants"?

    maricar:
The Mother Nature accepts no sorry from us....
Tell me how to survive if it is 40 C.

  18. I had to look twice at that first photo. At first glace the log looked like a reptile of some kind! :-)

  19. I guess that shows that even though the places we live seem different on the surface, us with our snow, and you with your hot weather, we are really very similar. We both have very good times of year, and also what some consider to be very bad times of year.

  20. Why don't you try take a bath in that lake rainfield? Looks clean enough :)

  21. The funny thing is that the weather here is still hot and humid eventhough it rains almost everyday! If we are made of wax like Madame Tussauds figures, we will melt soon. Maybe this hot weather will make some never-been-seen-before creatures living inside holes and crevices in Cerok Tokun to come out and become your photography models. Good Luck!

  22. Oh I wished I could send you over ALOT of snow but your request came a bit too late...its all gone now! We had a big storm last week with lots of heavy rain and winds and took what snow we had at that point away! However, if anymore is predicted here I will definitely try to send it to you! The photos are amazing, from one visit to another, how fast the water level fell.

  23. I would send you snow if I had some Rainfield but we have none. Even our mountains have very little snow, we will probably have water shortages come summer. El Nino has affected us as well.

Always a new adventure waits around a corner.

  24. Didnt realize the water situation over there on the mainland. Is it the same on the island? Guess it should be so. The Rejang River is also slowly drying up over here
