Long And Short

A morning is ten kilometers long in jungle trekking, and less than an hour in photography with beautiful lighting. I take time so to enjoy trekking into new trails, but am always in a hurry to search and shoot under thick canopies.

This moment is short, however the experience lasts long.

"Aha" is short, the echo that propagated from Cerok Tokun, across the oceans, to another ends is long.

"For echo is the soul of the voice exciting itself in hollow places."

Mirrors on the Wall

I came home empty-handed.

I had actually found an orange mushroom and thought of taking pictures in the return trip, but it was crushed to pieces before I could make it.

There were two handsome spiders around. My macro lens failed as one was not approachable at the edge of a slope. My hand was not steady to handle another one that stayed higher than my shoulder height.

This sounds like I am too stupid as though there were only mushrooms and spiders in the jungle. That should have not happened.

So these are pictures from archive that make up my day.

They are the mirrors that reflect who I am.

Who am I?

I see bottleneck

I relate a mushroom to bottleneck. I relate it too to an umbrella that is being opened up.

I saw a long and slender neck.

I saw beautiful patterns beyond the neck.

But it is more like a mirror revealing what I am feeling.

There are so many "necks" in the blogging world, in reading and in writing. I may have collected too much of them during hiking,

virtually, actually, apparently, really....

Those beautiful patterns are still lingering.

Last Hike in 2012

Three of us, father, mother and younger son, went hiking in Penang Hill again. This was a five hours round-trip as we spent time breathing, exploring and laughing uncontrollably.

As laughing uncontrollably, nothing much can be said about the colony of mushrooms, the hugging trees, and the leaves that cupping down along the trail.
